CNS (Beijing) -- A gang trafficking narcotics from Sichuan Province to Beijing has been brought to justice, Beijing police announced on Tuesday.

Six suspects have been detained and about 2,500 grams of various drugs along with 497.3 grams of drug additives have been confiscated, police said.

The gang, led by a drug dealer from Sichuan surnamed Xu, employed a number of members and operated according to a precise division of labor, police said. Xu was arrested on April 28.

A task force was created to crack down on the gang in November 2011.

The following February, the task force apprehended a suspect surnamed Li on a long-distance bus to Beijing and seized 997.6 grams of methamphetamine, 351.5 grams of heroin and 497.3 grams of drug additives. A manhunt for the other gang members hiding out in Chengdu ensued shortly thereafter.

The case is currently on trial.
