Beijing (CNS) –- Beijing plans to train ten thousand drug safety inspectors by the end of 2013, a source from the city's drug administration revealed on Sunday. At present, 6,662 drug inspectors are in position to ensure pharmacies are purveying only qualified drugs to city residents.

According to the source, the 10,000 new drug inspectors will be sufficient to cover more than 100 venues.

The source also said drug safety is a comprehensive social issue that touches everyone's life and it is necessary to have as many community members as possible engaged in scouting for problems. They will select the inspection force from both urban and rural communities.
