Half of China's netizens to have 4M broadband in 2012

Beijing (CNS) -- China will ensure at least 50 percent of internet users have access to broadband of 4M and above in 2012. That was the intention the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced on Friday.

Minister Miao Wei said they expect to see 35 million more households for using fiber, and an 20 million additional families with access to fixed broadband.

China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom are the three companies that will be putting the governmet's plan into practice.
