Nanjing (CNS) –The Nanjing West Railway Station started operating in the capital of Jiangsu Province in 1908, and this month welcomed the last passengers in its hundred year history. Local citizens, media reporters and work staff came to catch and capture the site of the last train rolling in on March 24; the station was officially shut down the next day.

In the last month ticket No. 7107 from Zhonghuamen Station to Nanjing West Station was a hot seller. The old-fashioned carriages carried people along to enjoy the last views from the track at a low speed. Some college students dressed up in suits from the Republic of China Period and posed for a group photo, to honor and remember old time tastes and sights.

The British style railway stop was nicknamed Xiaguan. From its initial establishment in 1908, it has witnessed a century of China's history.
