Beijing (CNS) –The global economy is not yet out of the danger zone, especially with issues such as fragile financial systems and high unemployment rates persisting, said Christine Lagarde, IMF Managing Director. China, as one of the emerging economies, will continue to prosper and help keep the global economy afloat, she noted.

Lagarde delivered a speech at the China Development Forum 2012 held in Beijing on March 18. She spoke highly of China's economic achievements, in particular about how China created 370 million job opportunities and led several hundred million of its people out of poverty during the past three decades.

Lagarde suggested China should concentrate on economic development with respect to three major concerns. The first priority is to boost household incomes and promote inclusiveness; the second is to prepare for the coming demographic challenge; and final is financial reform.
