“I will dance my way through life”:Chinese artist vows

Kunming (CNS) – "For me, the stage not only presents my dancing but also my lifestyle," Yang Liping told a reporter from CNS at her studio in Kunming, Yunnan Province on Thursday. "My grandma stuck with dancing in the village despite her age and humpback. Grandma was a happy dancer, and I will also dance my way through life," the 53 year old said.

Celebrated Bai dancer Yang Liping still regularly astonishes her audiences, from her first famous performance of 'Spirit of the Peacock', to the popular 'Dynamic Yunnan', to 'The Love of the Peacock' recently staged in January 2012.

Web users call her a fairy that never eats rice. "Actually, I eat as ordinary people do; only if you have enough to eat do you have the energy for artistic work." said Yang.

Currently, Yang is rehearsing a new dance drama "Peacock", which tells the story of a female dancer's struggle through life. It will be the last masterpiece in which Yang herself stars.

Yang told a reporter she would rather say her talent supports her dancing at a relatively advanced age, rather than simple passion.
