Changchun (CNS) – Private business in 2011 created a total added value of 53.18 billion yuan to the economy of Jilin province, accounting for 50.5 percent of its GDP, up 1.3 percent over the 2010 figure.

This is the first time that Jilin's private economy has accounted for over fifty percent of its total financial picture, Chang Ming, director of the Jilin Industry and Information Technology Office, acknowledged on February 3.

Chang said Jilin Province houses 128,937 private enterprises and 1.31 million individual business households, supporting 5.52 million employees in total.

Government plans for 2012 will initiate new directions for Jilin's private enterprise economy, says provincial governor Wang Rulin. It expects to see an increase of 10,000 private enterprises and revenue growth beyond 30 percent in the private sector.
