Hong Kong (CNS) -- The Hong Kong Buddhist Association will hold two world-level events this year to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Hong Kong's homecoming, announced the association's president Ven. Kok Kwong during the inaugural ceremony of its 58th board of directors on Monday.
A relic of one of Buddha's parietal bones will for the first time be exhibited outside the Chinese mainland on Buddha's birthday, which is the eighth day of the fourth month on the lunar calendar. The third World Buddhism Forum is scheduled to take place on the same day.
The Li Ka Shing Foundation turned over a check to finance the two events at the inaugural ceremony, which was attended by 800 people.
