(CNS)—A man named Guo Mingyi who works in highway management at the Qida Mountain Mining Field of Anshan in northeast China has attracted 4.8 million fans to his workaday Sina Weibo microblog.

In the freezing early morning hours, Guo inspects the road, organizes the repair of critical sections, makes daily schedules and arranges the day shift – all by 8 a.m. Despite this, during short breaks Guo always remembers to update his weibo page with his cell phone.

"Good morning! Have you smiled today? Keep warm and drink much hot water in winter!"

Such mundane advice, which Guo often tweets at 3 or 4 a.m., has managed to please millions of fans who follow his updates.

Dark-skinned Guo is a typical worker, who wears a gray uniform every day. Nevertheless, Guo now ranks 70th among the top 100 microbloggers on Sina Weibo.

According to one sociologist, the public has a desire to know good-hearted and simple people, which means someone as ordinary as Guo can become a superstar on the Internet.

Till now, Guo has posted more than 3,500 times, using plain language to express his enthusiasm for life, work and social responsibility.

"As I get older, I feel more attached to my wife," Guo tweeted on the topic of elopement. "I would never have an affair, and she won't leave me."
