Beijing (CNS) - The International Olympic Committee announced last year that the martial arts will become part of the Summer Olympic Games starting in 2020, with competitions to be held in alternating Games years. Gao Xiaojun, president of the Chinese Wushu Association welcomes this precious opportunity to promote martial arts in the international community.

The Chinese Wushu Association has made an agreement with Jet Li to start the Taichi Institute, added Gao, and this organization will promote martial arts to the world in general and absorb more candidates into the association.

The institute will run in cooperation with a top-level group from the US and their initial project is the construction of a theme park in Wudang Mountain, the most prestigious site of Taoism and Taichi in China. In addition, a number of monasteries will be set up in reputable hotels around the world to promote Taoism and Taichi culture.
