Shanghai (CNS) – The luxury liner Discovery from Bermuda moored in Shanghai Port on Sunday. It is the first international luxury liner to port in the city this year.

The arrival of the Discovery signals the end of the dull season for cruise liners arriving in Shanghai, according to an unnamed official at Pujiang checkpoint. A few more liners will visit the city from January to February, including the Diamond Princess and the Arcadia.

The luxury liner Ocean Rose from Panama will also open a regular line from Nagasaki to Shanghai on January 22, when a total of three liners will run between Japan and Shanghai.

The Discovery is 168.74 meters long and 24.64 meters wide, with an aggregate tonnage of up to 20,186 tons. About 750 passengers from 15 countries, including the UK, the US, Australia and Canada, arrived with the Discovery. They will depart on the liner at 8 o'clock tonight.
