Over 300 martial artists gather in Liangshan

Liangshan (CNS) -- The Ziwumen kung fu delegation won the championship at a kung fu competition with over three hundred martial artists in Liangshan, Shandong Province.

In its the tenth year, the competition was started by leading martial artist Song Yixiang, head and successor of the Ziwumen School. This competition is organized by the National Ziwumen Organization and the Civil Martial Arts Contest Committee. Almost 400 kung fu fans participated this time.

Various schools from traditional Chinese boxing, weaponry, and pair fighting were performed, by delegations from Jiangsu, Henan, Hebei, Yunnan, Fujian, and Shandong provinces, as well as Belarus.

Liangshan is one the four places that Chinese martial arts originated, along with Shaolin, Wudang, and Emei. Various styles of traditional Chinese boxing have been passed on from generation to generation there.

Ziwumen is included on the Province's non-heritage list. Its unique skills are Qinggong (to move conquering one's gravity), speedy actions, and leg strength.
