In response to media reports claiming that China has asked its domestic airlines to suspend deliveries of jets they ordered from Boeing, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said it is "not aware of the specifics".

Bloomberg News cited unnamed people familiar with the situation saying that the Chinese government has told the country's domestic airlines to stop accepting deliveries of Boeing jets as the trade war with the United States escalates.

As a Brazilian reporter raised questions about this report at a regular news conference in Beijing on Wednesday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said, "I'm not aware of the specifics, and I would refer you to competent Chinese authorities for the question."

When asked whether China will strengthen cooperation with Embraer, one of the largest commercial aircraft companies in the world and the biggest of its kind in Brazil, Lin said, "I would also refer you to competent Chinese authorities for this question."

The spokesman also expressed China's principled position over this topic.

"I would like to point out that Brazil is a major country in aviation, and China attaches importance to pragmatic cooperation with Brazil in various fields, including aviation, and is glad to see Chinese airlines carry out relevant cooperation with Brazil in alignment with market principles," he said.
