CATL, Ant Group, Hellobike partner to promote smart green mobility

Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd, China's largest electric vehicle battery provider, signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Monday with Ant Group and e-bike firm Hellobike to jointly promote smart green mobility.

In a statement, CATL said the partnership will focus on four key areas, including smart green mobility, digital technology, sustainable operations and green investment, adding that smart green mobility will be a central pillar of the three-way collaboration.

Efforts will also include advancing autonomous driving technologies, developing an integrated service platform for new energy travel, and building a post-sales service network for EV batteries, it added.

The three companies also plan to establish joint ventures and other collaborative frameworks to accelerate the application and commercialization of key technologies.

The three firms previously co-founded a battery-swapping venture targeting two-wheeled electric vehicles. The project aims to build China's largest energy infrastructure network for e-bikes and scooters.
