The U.S. cybersecurity company Proofpoint will acquire the Israeli start-up Meta Networks for 120 million U.S. dollars, the two companies announced Tuesday.

Meta Networks, founded in 2017 and headquartered in the coastal city of Tel Aviv, has developed a private cloud network service that integrates various types of security products including access management, security and network management.

The service is based on ZTNA (zero trust network access) advanced technology developed by the company.

With this service, enterprises can quickly connect people, applications, clouds, data centers and offices, and secure them with a software-defined perimeter.

Proofpoint, founded in 2002 and headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, primarily deals with e-mail security. The company is traded on Nasdaq with a market cap of about 6.9 billion dollars.
