UnionPay International (UPI), a subsidiary of China UnionPay, announced a global cooperation deal on Wednesday with ACI Worldwide, in a bid to expand its global approach, according to a report by China News Service.
ACI Worldwide is a payment systems company headquartered in Naples, Florida.
The companies will conduct comprehensive cooperation in areas like bank card processing and innovative payment methods.
They will initially open hundreds of merchant websites supporting UnionPay online payments, covering the areas of finance, aviation, hotels, e-commerce and supermarkets.
UnionPay's business has so far expanded to networks in 168 countries and regions and online vendors from over 200 destinations.
