The cloud computing platform of Chinese technology giant Alibaba Group Holding is expanding its presence in overseas markets, having recently teamed up with an Australian company and a college in the United Arab Emirates, media reported on Sunday.

Aliyun has signed a partnership with Australian e-commerce platform ICONIC to provide an image-searching service, Ma Lei, general manger of Aliyun's Southeast Asian and Australian business unit, was quoted as saying by the Xinhua News Agency.

It was the first artificial intelligence-powered solution that the Chinese company offered to the Australian market.

Aliyun and the Khalifa University of Science and Technology jointly announced a partnership in exploring technologies such as big data, the Internet of Things, robotics and cloud computing, Middle East technology news site itp.net reported on Friday.
