Germany's iF International Forum Design will open a design center in China's city of Chengdu to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in design and creativity.
The center, located at the hi-tech industrial development zone of Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province, will open in April 2018, according to the organizing committee of the ongoing Chengdu Creativity and Design Week.
The Hannover-based company is a design-related services provider and the organizer of the world major design award, the iF Design Award.
The center will be composed of areas including a design shop for co-branded products, exhibition halls and designer studios.
The center will host activities such as exhibitions of works by iF award winners and international design forums.
Chengdu Creativity and Design Week started on Nov. 10, and is an annual event hosted by the local municipal government.
