New statistics are suggesting a group of quality brands from the Chinese mainland are gaining popularity in the Hong Kong market.
Boosted by a project supporting quality brands launched by Tmall, Alibaba's online shopping platform, some 100 mainland brands have seen a sales increase of over 30 percent in Hong Kong.
Statistics showed that Laoganma Chili Sauce from Guizhou Province was the most popular product with consumers in Hong Kong, making up one out of every 20 orders.
Wuhan Zhouheiya spicy duck necks and Beijing's Baihua Honey have also won the hearts of Hong Kong consumers.
Around 1,200 Chinese brands have been certified the country's Ministry of Commerce so far, and over 600 of them have joined the Tmall project to expand their market.
