The brand new Fuxing (Revival) high-speed bullet train will be put into operation between Beijing and Shanghai starting on September 21, China Railway's official website 12306.cn announced on Wednesday.

Tickets for the bullet train went on sale on Wednesday and the price for the trip remained the same as before, according to the announcement.

It means that the highly anticipated Fuxing bullet train, which carries China's latest technology in high-speed rail and is said to be the fastest bullet train in the world, is finally going into operation.

The Fuxing bullet train will run at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, reducing the trip between Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and Beijing South Railway Station to 4.5 hours, the announcement said.

The new speed could further help the design and construction of high-speed rail links and help passengers save time, a report on the website of State broadcaster China Central Television noted Wednesday.

The report added that the launch of the Fuxing bullet train reflects China's leading position in technological innovation for high-speed rail.

China Railway Corp (CRC), which developed and will operate the Fuxing service, said on Sunday that with the new bullet train, China will reach the highest commercial travel speed for high speed rail in the world.

Moreover, CRC is vigorously pushing forward reform of the railway enterprise system while adjusting the reform plan and schedule. CRC aims to complete the enterprise system reform for all non-transportation companies before the end of 2017, domestic news site cailianpress.com reported Wednesday.
