Cambodia and northwestern China's Shaanxi province signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in trade and investment here on Monday.

The deal was inked at the end of the Cambodia-China's Shaanxi Province Business Forum, which was presided over by Cambodian Minister of Commerce Pan Sorasak and Shaanxi governor Hu Heping.

According to the MoU, both sides would boost the exchange of trade, especially agricultural products and China would encourage more Chinese investors to Cambodia.

Speaking at the forum, Pan Sorasak said China is the largest trading partner and investor of Cambodia and Cambodia would open a commercial center in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi in May.

Hu Heping said Cambodia's commercial center in Xi'an would importantly contribute to promoting trade, investment, tourism, education and culture between China and Cambodia.

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Xiong Bo said Shaanxi is rich in culture and natural resources, and it is the hub of tourism, science and technology development, and industries.

He said under the Belt and Road Initiatives, the province has opened its door to the world in terms of trade, culture and international cooperation.
