The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) ruled on Wednesday that subsidized bus and truck tires imported from China have caused no damage to American industries. Therefore, the U.S. will not issue anti-dumping and countervailing duty orders on these Chinese products.
The ITC voted three-to-two, with one abstention, to reject an investigation brought forward by the United Steelworkers union.
In 2015, the number of bus and truck tires imported from China to the U.S. was at 8.9 million, worth over one billion U.S. dollars. China's Ministry of Commerce will hold a press conference on Thursday, in which the head of the Trade Remedy and Investigation Bureau will brief the press about China's stance on the issue.
