Internet giant Baidu Inc on Thursday confirmed that it had started to restructure its healthcare business unit and put more focus on artificial intelligence in the healthcare industry, the Securities Times reported.
Media reports said that Baidu is trying to move away from its focus on advertising for healthcare products and services, which came under fire last year after a man died of cancer following controversial treatment at a Beijing hospital found on Baidu.
