The State Council, China's cabinet recently released a guideline on online public services.

The document, signed by Premier Li Keqiang, called for better data sharing and transparency to bring the public the most convenience.

According to the document, province-level governments and State Council departments should integrate online government services by the end of 2017.

In particular, a mechanism for public participation in which government responds to social concerns via the Internet will enhance public trust.

Additionally, the document asks local service centers to be seamlessly linked to online service platforms, while accelerating the extension of online government services to the grassroots.

The document also calls for transparent, efficient, and service-oriented government.
