Two big Chinese products fairs got under way in Bangkok on Thursday in Bangkok, bringing quality products from leading manufacturers to Thai and ASEAN customers.

The 6th China-ASEAN (Thailand) Commodity Fair and the 7th China Products (Thailand) Show, held in the Impact Exhibition & Convention center here, will run till Saturday.

According to organizers, a lot of products are offered to buyers, including home appliances, housewares, toys, lifestyle products, building materials and industrial machinery, among others.

The two fairs are expected to further promote exchanges and cooperation between Chinese companies and customers from Thailand as well as other ASEAN countries.

"Due to Thailand's geographical location, the events will allow Chinese manufacturers to access ASEAN customers as we see Thailand as a platform," said Xu Haitao, an official with China's Ministry of Commerce.

Xu noted that two-way trade between China and Thailand has been increasing steadily and more growth is expected due to China-proposed Belt and Road initiative.

China-ASEAN (Thailand) Commodity Fair was first held in 2012 and has ever since become an annual event. Since 2014, China Products (Thailand) Show has been held together with the commodity fair.

According to organizers, the two fairs occupy a space of 8,000 square meters, with around 400 booths from 400 leading manufacturers; over 10,000 customers are expected to visit the fairs.
