One Star House Party is creating a weeklong pop-up at The Opposite House in Beijing. Running from Saturday through Sept 30, the internationally renowned team behind pop-up restaurants in New York City, Taipei and Seoul will execute a locally influenced menu that reflects its extensive travels throughout China.

A team of chefs who have worked in restaurants like NOMA, Tom Aikens and Soho House have scoured the country, foraging for ingredients as well as taking on apprenticeships with rice farmers and local street-food vendors alike.

Taking what they've found to the boutique hotel The Opposite House in Beijing's bustling Sanlitun area, the chefs have created a menu to showcase China's rich cultural history, contrasted with modern culinary techniques.

The One Star House Party team of chefs and carpenters will transform the contemporary Bei Space in the hotel basement with handcrafted furniture and tableware to set a stylish scene for a special dining experience.

"The sheer scale of China, with its diverse landscapes, countless cooking techniques and abundance of native ingredients makes this project our biggest creative endeavor yet," says chef James Sharman.

Each dish is being served by the chefs themselves along with the story of their journey.

"We are constantly challenging ourselves to bring outstanding new experiences to Beijing, where there is a growing appreciation for creative or unique experiences," says Mark Passmore, general manager of The Opposite House. Reservations (www.onestarhouseparty.com/beijing) for the Beijing pop-up are now available.
