Visitors from the Chinese mainland are expected to make 133 million overseas trips in 2016, up 11.5 percent compared with the previous year, according to a report issued Thursday by the China Tourism Academy and UnionPay International.

The number of overseas trips made by mainland citizens totaled 117 million in 2015, up 9.8 percent year-on-year, the report said. Compared with the more than 20 percent growth rates recorded in previous years, Outbound tourism market saw an obvious slowdown, but the report pointed out that the market will maintain steady growth in the coming five to 10 years.
