The U.S. International Trade Commission on Tuesday announced a hearing about Section 337 investigations, which refer to patent infringement probes into electronics giants such as ZTE Corp, Lenovo Corp Ltd, Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, LG Electronics Inc and other major smartphone vendors, will be held on July 6.

Lenovo and ZTE declined to comment on the matter.

The commission launched an investigation into the electronics giants over a patent infringement complaint filed by Singapore-based Creative Technology on May 5.

With the increase in Sino-U.S. trades, disputes over intellectual property are on the rise.

If the involved enterprises violate the so-called Section 337 investigations, the commission will issue an injunction and exclusion order, which means their products will lose the right to enter into the U.S. market.
