Chinese telecommunication giant Huawei has further consolidated its market position in Spain after registering a "notable" growth in the country in 2015, director of Huawei Enterprise in Spain Jorge Zhu said on Thursday.

Huawei had rapid expansion in the finance, energy and transport sectors of Spain after signing contracts with important Spanish companies such as Cepsa, Red.es and Eurona. As of Thursday, Huawei has 170 business partners in Spain, according to Zhu.

Huawei has adapted to its growth by opening new offices in Galicia and the Basque Region, while expanding its offices in Catalonia and Andalusia, according to Zhu.

"We are very proud of the achievements of the Spain office in just five years," said Zhu, who said the results allowed the company to "continue innovate and offer new services and solutions which incorporate the latest technology and satisfy the needs of clients."

The commercial director of Huawei Enterprise in Spain Carlos Delso said Huawei was "a strategic partner in the digital transformation of Spain." The Spain office had "registered the division's best results in Europe," he added.

Huawei's business sector has promised to double the amount of business in spain it was able to carry out in 2015 by attracting new clients, such as companies on the Ibex-35 stock exchange and the Spanish government.
