A Chinese Internet regulator has begun recruiting Internet firms for an alliance designed to help them coordinate security measures.

Eighty-nine enterprises have applied to join the group, the National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team (CNCERT) said on Friday.

The CNCERT claims to have blacklisted tens of thousands of websites and dealt with similar numbers of Internet security threats thanks to more than 100,000 public tip-offs since July 2015.
