A study released by Alipay shows the company's reach in China's social services and public institutions.

According to findings published by Alipay, the mobile payment unit of e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, by the end of 2015 more than 100 million residents in 124 cities of 19 provinces had access to the urban public service platform through Alipay.

The public services offered by Alipay include paying for medical bills and traffic tickets. Even the query of social security and provident funds and the appointment of marriage registration could be done at the service platform. A total of 40 different kinds of services are included.
