Chinese largest ride-hailing and sharing app Didi Chuxing announced Monday that the company delivered a total of 1.43 billion rides in China last year.

Formerly known as Didi Kuaidi, the company completed more than 200 million rides in December, with its user base exceeding 250 million.

It has maintained a dominant market position in China since the launch of its private car-hailing business in late 2014.

According to recent research published by China Internet Network Information Center, Didi holds 87.2 percent of the country's private car-hailing market.

Didi projected that China's mobile transportation market will continue to see robust growth in the future and pledged to focus on using big data and artificial intelligence to promote efficiency, said Chen Wei, founder and CEO of Didi.

China has experienced significant development in its mobile transportation market over the past three years.

Statistics show that the public's willingness to use online rideshare services is as high as 86.7 percent in China's first- and second-tier cities.
