"It's now hard to imagine someone is waiting for a taxi on a cold hazy winter day in Beijing without using a taxi-hailing app," said Cheng Wei, CEO of Didi Kuaidi, Chinese ride-hailing app, at a sub-forum of the Second World Internet Conference on Friday. [Special Coverage]

Cheng said Didi has come a long way in the past three years after fierce competition, and said they quite enjoyed the competition and it will help Didi grow faster.

"The fiercer the competition, the better. There will be a long time for Didi and Uber to compete in the global market and learn from each other," Cheng said.

Cheng said he hopes Didi will provide services for over 30 million customers and 10 million drivers per day in the next three years, and anyone could grab a cab via the app within three minutes no matter where he is.

For that end, Cheng said Didi is working on its international strategy, aiming to build a global travel map of all Chinese people.

Chinese ride-hailing and sharing app Didi Kuaidi announced early this month that the company will expand its global rideshare agreement with Lyft, GrabTaxi and Ola to reach nearly 50 percent of the world's population.

Through the global partnership, the companies, which combined serve nearly all of China, the United States, Southeast Asia and India, will collaborate and use each other's technology, market knowledge and business resources to serve more international travelers, said Didi Kuaidi.

Didi Kuaidi is the world's largest one-stop mobile transportation platform, providing seven million rides per day across 360 Chinese cities.
