To improve the cyberspace governance, China and the world should rely on each other. China has actively participated in international cyberspace governance and is building an international exchange platform. Because of the Internet, the world has become more wonderful and China has become more linked to the world, said Wang Xiujun, vice-minister of Cyberspace Administration of China at Cyberspace Governance Forum at the ongoing World Internet Conference. As the foundation of Internet development, Wang called for joint efforts to maintain cybersecurity. She said we should "respect national sovereignty of the cyberspace, protect key information from threats and protect personal privacy and intellectual property rights".

She appealed for sharing of resources and a balanced development of the Internet, which is a common aspiration of the vast number of developing countries.

Some important progress has been made in cyberspace governance in 2015. For example, in June, the first council meeting of Global Internet Governance Alliance was held in Brazil and Alibaba's Chairman Jack Ma has become one of the co-chairman. In November, the UN held its 10th Internet Governance Forum.

Although different countries vary in Internet development and have different views on cyberspace governance, the desire to strengthen cyberspace governance is the same. The international community should seek common ground and promote cyberspace regularities for the benefit of the people, Wang said.

Chinese authorities have attached more importance to the Internet, pledging to transform China from a big Internet nation to a great one. The Internet, with better management, will be more open to the world.
