Bank president detained
The president of the Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) has been taken away as part of a corruption investigation, media reported on Monday.
President Zhang Yun was absent from the bank's meeting held by an inspection team of the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection on Monday morning, news portal sina.com.cn reported, citing anonymous sources close to the incident. Several sources have confirmed that Zhang has been taken away to assist investigation in a corruption case.
The bank did not respond to the report as of press time.
On Monday afternoon, the bank's share price dropped over 2 percent on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, while its share price dropped on 0.96 percent at the Shanghai Stock Exchange, media reported.
