Vietnam saw a trade deficit of over three billion U.S. dollars with China in July, bringing the figure in the first seven months of 2015 to hit some 19.3 billion U.S. dollars, said Vietnam Customs on Monday.
According to a report released by Vietnam Customs on its website, in July alone, Vietnam spent 4.36 billion U.S. dollars importing goods from China, while earning 1.34 billion U.S. dollars from exports to the market.
In the seven-month period, Vietnam's export and import revenue with China reached over 9 billion and 28.4 billion U.S. dollars respectively.
In the January-July period, Vietnam exported 37 groups of items to China. Only group of computers, electronic products and accessories had export revenue of 1.45 billion U.S. dollars while the remaining groups had export revenue of less than one billion U. S. dollars, according to the customs.
Meanwhile, among import items from China, there were six items with revenue surpassing over one billion U.S. dollars, such as machines, tools, equipment, accessories (5.29 billion U.S. dollars) , cell phones and accessories (3.88 billion U.S. dollars) and fabrics (2.98 billion U.S. dollars) among others.
