Liu Chunning, president of digital entertainment business group of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding, was led away by Shenzhen officers, Beijing-based news portal 163.com reported Thursday night.

Liu allegedly involved in a bribery scandal during the period he worked for Tencent Holdings, another Internet giant in the country, 163.com reported, citing a person close to the matter who refused to be named.

The bribery scandal is likely to be related to the purchase of intellectual property rights for Tencent's online video business, according to 163.com.

Liu has worked for Tencent for 10 years and he was in charge of the company's strategy in 2005, 163.com reported.
