China stocks open more than 5% lower Monday

Chinese stocks opened sharply lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 5.53 percent, or 186.77 points, at 3,189.73.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened at 10,939.04, down 5.15 percent, or 593.76 points.
