East China’s Dezhou city holds seminar on China-ASEAN FTA business chances

China-ASEAN business council and the municipal government of Dezhou city, East China's Shandong province, jointly held a seminar lately on the business chances in China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.

Executive president of the China-ASEAN business council Xu Ningning said, China and ASEAN are important trading partners. In August, the two sides decided to build a updated version of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, which would bring new growth point for the Asian economy.

Just back from the APEC summit in Beijing, Xu said the Asia-Pacific region's economic growth is a major driving force of global economic growth.

Xu added entrepreneurs should take note of the potential of the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Area as shown at APEC meetings, China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, and to seize the new business chances.

Gao Xu, a representative of Malaysia's Port Klang International Trade and Halal Industry Development Center, introduced the investment policy and development plan of Malaysia's Port Klang.

Port Klang is the second largest port in Southeast Asia, and an important stopover on the "Maritime Silk Road".

Dezhou vice mayor Yang Jiuqing said, while Dezhou has seen an rapidly increasing economic and trade cooperation with the ASEAN in recent years, the city should actively construct a new communication platform to serve foreign trade and economic, and make contribution to the Marine Silk Road construction.
