Country Garden Holdings Ltd, a Hong Kong listed property developer, launched its first project in Beijing on Friday, showing its ambition to tap the country's first tier markets.
The project, "Nine Dragon Bay", is located in Beijing's Fangshan district, covering an area of 5.33 million square meters. As planned, the site will be developed into a large-scale community for leisure and healthcare, including facilities for relaxation, entertainment and medical care.
According to Li Shixu, vice president of Country Garden's Jiangzhou region, the company is actively seeking opportunities in Beijing.
Established in 1992 and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2007, Country Garden is one of China's leading integrated property developers, with businesses comprising construction, installation, fitting, property development, property management, as well as hotel development and management.
Currently, the company has over 100 high-quality property projects, covering areas including Guangdong, Guangxi, Tianjin, Anhui, Jiangsu, Hunan, Hubei, Chongqing, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia and Hainan, serving over 300,000 homeowners.
