Fourth expo on alcohol to open in Guiyang

Fourth China International Alcoholic Beverage Expo opens on Tuesday in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou, and hopes to build on the success of previous sessions.

The exhibition began in 2011 and it is the only national-level liquor industry show in China. This year's event will last until Sep 12.

The province uses the annual International Alcoholic Beverage Expo to attract more overseas investors to help the industry bloom. Buyers from home and abroad have signed 108 projects on this year's opening ceremony, worht 113.03 billion yuan ($18.4 billion).

"Guizhou would put focus on the liquor's quality and develop multiple products to meet different needs of consumers, thus the influence of liquor will be further improved", Chen Miner, the provincial governor, said at the opening ceremony.

Data shows more than 900 wine manufacturers from 40 countries and regions have taken part in this year's expo. The number of buyers is expected to reach 12,000, an all-time high.
