South Korea says it will employ new measures to help domestic companies do more business in China.

The government aims to double the amount of consumer goods sent to China by 2020.

The government says it also will help businesses in the service and agricultural sectors build demand in China. The new measures follow a recent slowdown in shipments to China that has raised concerns about South Korea's economy.

South Korea and China are now in negotiations on a free trade agreement that senior officials say may be finished by the end of the year.
