The private sector should be boosted in order to revitalize old industrial bases in Northeast China, Premier Li Keqiang said at a meeting held on Thursday.
Li noted that small- and micro-sized companies in the area should be encouraged and pilot private banks should be established to boost the vitality of local economies.
Also, the local manufacturing sector, such as high-speed railways and nuclear facilities, should seek opportunities to expand overseas, and the area should further open up to Northeast Asia, Li said at the meeting.
