China's Ministry of Commerce has welcomed the latest ruling from World Trade Organization (WTO) that found the U.S. countervailing measures against some Chinese products violated WTO rules.

An anonymous source from the ministry said on Monday that the ministry welcomed the backing for multiple claims by China but regretted that some other arguments were rejected.

The 22 types of Chinese products involved have an annual export value of more than 7.2 billion U.S. dollars.

The ministry urged the U.S. to respect the ruling, rectify its abuse of trade remedy measures and ensure an environment of fair competition for Chinese companies.

The U.S. passed GPX legislation in 2012 which authorized the U.S. Department of Commerce to impose countervailing duties on goods from China and allow application retroactively from Nov. 20, 2006.
