AIG to bring driving simulators to Shanghai, promoting highway safety

AIG China has launched a six-month road safety tour that will reach Shanghai this autumn, allowing consumers to experience various road issues by driving simulators, the company said.

The simulators, developed by AIG to help raise public awareness of road safety, will allow consumers to experience the hazards of driving in a city environment, see first-hand the benefits of wearing a seatbelt during a low-speed incident, and bring to life the perils of drunk driving.

The tour started in Guangzhou, capital of southern China's Guangdong Province, last Friday, and is expected to reach Shanghai in October.

"AIG has been in China for almost a century and as members of the community, educating the people of China on the importance of road safety is very important to us," said Eric Zheng, president and CEO of AIG China. "It is through these interactive activities that we are able to raise awareness of road safety and hopefully reduce injuries and fatalities on our roads."
