2014 China Guangxi Products Exhibition opened in Budapest on Thursday, as part of a bid by Guangxi to show Europe its significant industry.

This first-time European presentation includes information technology products, construction machinery, textiles, and specialty goods, with 84 businesses showcasing their wares.

Vice-Chairman of Guangxi Zhang Xiaoqin addressed the opening.

He highlighted the consensus on cooperation reached by Chinese and Hungarian leaders, saying that this was why his region had chosen Budapest to spotlight its industry to expand business and trade cooperation.

Guangxi is an autonomous region in southwest China.

Zhang noted that Guangxi had a great deal of development potential, a dynamically expanding economy, and huge investment opportunities.

His region, he said, would like to increase its cooperation platforms and expand its role in the international markets.

Hungary's deputy chief of the government coalition partner KDNP's parliamentary caucus, Imre Vejkey, welcomed participants in the name of the parliament.

He noted that Hungary had considered China a long-time friend, proving that the friendship was sincere and based on mutual affinity and welcomed the exhibition as an opportunity to further intensify ties.

Chinese Ambassador to Hungary Xiao Qian atteded the opening ceremony. The exhibition will end on Saturday.
