AIG-CASS to improve road safety

AIG China,a fully owned subsidiary of American International Group (AIG Inc),on Monday announced joint cooperation with Institute of Sociology of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) on China Road Safety Blue Paper.

China is currently the biggest automobile manufacture market with more than 130 million automobiles as of 2013. However,road safety is still a big concern.

AIG's strategic agreement with CASS includes a series of research around road safety in China. Results of the studies will be released to the public on regular basis.

"What insurance can do is not only reduce losses after accidents happen,but can also help protect and prevent from both natural and man-made disasters," said Eric Zheng,President & CEO of AIG China.

In 2013,AIG launched Road Safety Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in China,which focuses on educating thousands of primary school students on the importance of road safety.

In 2014 and beyond,AIG will continue with these efforts and introduce more interactive and experimental programs with high-tech devices to the Chinese society to enhance road safety awareness,said Zheng.
