British luxurious car maker Rolls-Royce unveiled a new special edition of Phantom Drophead Coupe in London on Tuesday.

The 35 Bespoke Phantom Waterspeed Collection cars paid homage to Sir Malcolm Campbell who broke the United States' five year strangle-hold on the waterspeed records in 1937. The hydroplane boat Campbell taking the wheel on was powered by Rolls-Royce's R-Type engine.

The potential of luxurious cars like Rolls-Royce in China are huge, Boyle Andrew, global communications manager of Rolls-Royce Motor told Xinhua on Tuesday.

"China as a market is our leading market worldwide, it's very clear that the Chinese car-buying public is very interested in Rolls-Royce's brand," said Andrew.

"There are so many younger entrepreneurs who are becoming successive in China, and they are the people who want to drive themselves," he said, indicating that the model is very driver-focused. He said the luxurious car maker had taken a completely new direction of opening the brand up to the younger buyers.

The Rolls-Royce sold more than 3,600 cars worldwide in 2013.
