Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang met Andre Desmarais, honorary chairman of the Canada China Business Council (CCBC), on Tuesday.
Wang praised the role played by the CCBC in promoting bilateral economic, trade and investment cooperation as well as friendly exchanges.
China has begun a new round reform and opening up, he said, expressing hope that the CCBC can boost cooperation between enterprises of the two countries.
The CCBC, founded in 1978 as a private, not-for-profit business association, is dedicated to supporting its members to grow their businesses in China and Canada.
