AirAsia, a low cost carrier, said on Tuesday that it will start flying between Xi'an in northwest China's Shaanxi Province and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 2.

This will be the first non-stop service between the two cities, the airline said.

The Malaysia-based airline will use an Airbus A330 aircraft to fly four round trips a week. A one-way trip takes five hours.

A one-way ticket for the maiden flight from Xi'an to Kuala Lumpur can be booked at prices as low as 488 yuan (78 U.S. dollars) on the carrier's official website.
